We as parents only want the best for our children. We want them to have fun, fulfilling and successful experiences throughout their school years. Whether your child is in Concert Band, Marching Band, Color Guard, Winter Guard, or Pep Band, the PQBB raises the funds needed to ensure the success of the Band Programs of Perquimans County.
We host several fundraisers throughout the year, and it is vital to have students and parents participate to ensure our goals are met, and funds are readily available as needed. Below is a list of the fundraisers we have planned for the 2024-2025 school year, and their projected time frames.
Our operating costs are over to $30,000 this year, which means we need every one of our fundraising efforts to be successful.

BANDTOBER CALENDAR
Most Marching Band Competitions happen in the month of October, "Bandtober", so we are asking the kids to "sell" the days on the October calendar! This fundraiser has the potential to bring in a TON of money for our students, but ONLY if everyone puts forth effort. Each Marching Band student will be given a calendar on August 9th at band camp. They will have 1 month to "sell" their days. Ask friends and family to help sponsor your child's marching season by "buying" a day or more. If they want to buy October 4th, they'll pay $4. If they want the 20th, they'll pay $20. If they want both, they'll pay $24! Each calendar has the potential to make $496!!! If 60 students sold a full calendar, we would bring in $29,760!!!! That would make every one of our band dreams come true, and then some. Our goal, however, is to bring in at least $4,000. If we reach our goal of $4,000, the Boosters will provide a FREE movie night at RCE Theater in Elizabeth City, after our all day rehearsal, on Saturday, September 21,2024. If your child sells a full calendar, they will also receive a FREE small drink & Jr. Popcorn on us! All forms and monies are due no later than September 9, 2024. (PQBB will not be accepting PayPal payments for this fundraiser. Your student needs to turn in cash or checks only.) UPDATE: Our goal was met, and exceeded. Totals will be made known shortly, as we still have a few calendars being turned in late. Since our goal of $4,000 was met, PQBB will pay the admission price for each Marching Pirate to attend a private showing of Bee Movie, at RCE Theater, on Saturday, September 21st. Parents and siblings are welcome to attend this movie with their marcher, however, they will be responsible for paying their own admission. ($6/person) The full concession menu will be available at your expense. Please send your child with money to purchase something from the concessions. If your child turned in a full calendar ($496) PQBB will provide them a FREE small drink & Jr. popcorn. (They may still purchase their own concessions separately. Your child will need a ride from PCHS to the theater, and be picked up around 8:30pm. NO ONE is going back to the band room. Our arrival time at RCE is 6:30 and our showtime is 7:00. Don't BEE late!

DISCOUNT CARDS
This year we will be switching things up just a little. We will be changing the number of businesses on our card, to make them easier to read. Businesses can offer discounts such as, "10% off your purchase," or "free drink with purchase," or whatever discount they are willing to honor for the cardholder until December 31 of the following year. We will only be ordering 500 cards, and selling them at $5 each. Discount Cards can be "Signed Out" to sell, by parents only! You can either pay for them up front and keep the money as you sell them, or sign them out with the understanding that you are responsible for either turning the unsold cards back in to PQBB, or paying for them. Students will receive an order form from their director to sell cards, and they can turn in their order forms and money, and then they will receive their cards to distribute to the ones who purchased them.

COLOR GUARD YOUTH CAMP
This will be our 4th annual Color Guard Youth Camp! Students between grades K-8th, will have the opportunity to hang out with the PQ Winter Guard team and learn about flag spinning and dance. PQBB will provide a snack (donations of snacks are GREATLY appreciated) and there will be a brief performance for the families at the end of camp, to showcase what the students have learned, as well as a performance by our very own PQ Winter Guard Team! The registration fee will be $30 per child.

We will be selling spaces to local crafters and vendors to sell their wares. Each vendor will also be required to donate an item, or gift certificate to PQBB, for us to raffle off during the event. PQBB will also be selling baked goods, and Discount Cards, as well as accepting donations. We will need a lot of volunteers to ensure the success of this fundraiser. BANNER SPONSORS
Each year the Marching Pirates have a new banner made for events such as football games, parades, and concerts. This banner is displayed to show the community what local companies are supportive of the PQ Bands, and to show businesses how much we appreciate their support! We will sell sponsorships a little differently this year, with different sponsorship levels. Sponsorship levels will be as follows:
Bronze- $150- Name on banner
Silver-$250- Name & logo on banner
Gold- $500 - Name, logo & website on banner
Platinum- $1,000- Name, logo & website on banner, logo on show shirt sleeve, shout out at home football games, mentioned in concert programs.

50/50 RAFFLES
During the Spring Concerts, we will host a 50/50 Raffle. Tickets can be purchased before the concerts begin, by stopping by the PQBB table in front of the auditorium. The winning ticket will be chosen at the end of the concert by the Band Director, and announced to the audience. The winner will receive half of the money raised during this raffle in cash before leaving.
