Mission Statement

The PQ Band Booster Incorporation (hereafter PQBB) is a non-profit organization comprised of students, parents, businesses, and community members who have a vested interest in the success of the band programs at Perquimans County High School (hereafter PCHS) and Perquimans County Middle School (hereafter PCMS). These programs include Color Guard, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Pep Band, Wind Ensemble, Pit Band, Winter Guard, and Winter Percussion. The primary purpose of the PQBB is to assist the Directors of Band in the development of excellence in music education, performance skills, and leadership in our students. The PQBB accomplishes this by providing financial, logistical, and moral support in a balanced fashion for all these programs and the students who participate in them. The PQBB shall be dedicated to developing a spirit of enthusiasm and coordinating the efforts of volunteers in the support of instrumental music education in the PQ Band Programs.

BAND BOOSTER MEETINGS

The PQ Band Booster, Inc. (PQBB) and the Directors of Band, Mrs. Copeland (PCMS) and Mr. Copeland (PCHS), meet the first Thursday of every month at 6:00 pm in the PCHS band room. All band parents (6th-12th grade) are encouraged to attend these meetings. We discuss and vote on budgets, fundraisers, needs of the bands, and upcoming events. The best way to guarantee that you won't miss a thing, is to attend these monthly meetings. If you have a child in Band or Guard, you are a band booster. Please attend these meetings to help ensure the continuation of our amazing band programs. Let your voice be heard!

PCMS COMMITTEE MEETINGS

The PCMS Committee meets every other month, the 2nd Thursday of the month, at 6pm at PCMS. The purpose of the PCMS Committee is to discuss PCMS specific needs, to be executed through the PQBB Organization. Since most of our monthly meetings revolve around Marching Band and Winter Guard, the PCMS Committee has been formed to focus on Middle School specific needs. This is a new committee, so there will be kinks that need to be worked out, however, our first meeting went great, and we're excited to see what the future holds for our band students at PCMS.
